Estimated Cost Breakdown for Custom 2-Piece Forged Wheels
The final price of a forged wheel varies depending on several factors. Understanding these cost drivers will help you plan your budget more accurately and communicate requirements clearly when requesting a quote.
Larger diameters, wider widths, and more complex spoke or lip designs increase both material usage and machining time. For example, a 22×12-inch deep-dish design will cost more than a 19×8.5 standard concave wheel.
6061-T6 aluminum alloy is the standard for most forged wheels. However, magnesium alloys or higher-grade forged aluminum will raise the cost due to material properties and sourcing difficulty.
Standard powder coating is the most economical. Options like brushing, polishing, anodizing, and especially chrome plating increase costs based on the labor and materials involved. Multi-process or two-tone finishes also add complexity.
Custom center caps (logo engraving, magnetic lids, floating caps) and forged rim components (especially in carbon fiber or anodized finishes) have tiered pricing depending on quantity and material type.
Shipping cost is highly dependent on destination and method. Air freight is fastest but most expensive. Sea freight offers better cost efficiency for bulk orders.
Each country has its own customs duties, VAT, and compliance standards. These can significantly affect the final landed cost. We recommend confirming local requirements before placing an order.

Production Timeline: From Contract to Ready-to-Ship Custom Forged Wheels
At FLEXIFORGED, every forged wheel order is custom-built from scratch. While many factories work on a Monday-to-Friday schedule, our production runs 7 days a week in shifts to ensure steady delivery—even during peak seasons.
Below is a typical timeline from deposit confirmation to shipment-ready status:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
Step 1 – Contract Confirmation & Deposit Received
This is the official start of production. Once the customer approves the specifications and confirms the proforma invoice, the order is confirmed. Production begins immediately after receiving the deposit. This step ensures the production slot is locked and materials are planned.
Step 2 – Technical Drawing & Design Finalization
Our engineering team creates detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings tailored to the customer’s requirements. Specifications such as PCD, offset, hub bore, finish, and branding are included. Final confirmation ensures accurate production and minimizes rework risk.
Step 3 – Forging & Material Preparation
Raw 6061-T6 aluminum bars are heated and forged under high pressure into basic wheel blanks. This aligns the metal grain for enhanced strength. Standard and non-standard blanks are sourced or forged depending on the design.
Step 4 – CNC Precision Machining
The forged blanks are machined using 3-axis to 5-axis CNC machines to create the exact shape, spoke design, and dimensions. Both barrel and center are cut separately in this stage, ensuring precision and perfect fitment.
Step 5 – Surface Finishing
Wheels undergo customer-selected surface treatment: powder coating, brushing, anodizing, polishing, or chrome plating. This not only enhances appearance but also protects against corrosion. Each finish requires controlled processing.
Step 6 – Quality Inspection & Logo Engraving
Final inspection covers size accuracy, weight, balance, and surface finish. Optional logo engraving or laser etching is applied after QC approval. Third-party inspection (e.g., TUV, ISO) is available on request.
Step 7 – Packaging & Dispatch Ready
Finished wheels are wrapped in foam, packed in export-grade cartons, and palletized. Labels and documentation are added. At this point, the goods are ready for customs clearance and global shipping.
