CNC Machined Forged Wheels: The Floor Behind the Drawing
Every FLEXIFORGED wheel is CNC machined from a forged blank at a plant within our group — 60+ machines, 3–5 axis, cutting roughly 0.02" per pass with spindles centred to about 0.001". The machines don't carry our name; the specification and the inspection do. This page shows the floor, the sequence a blank goes through, and the numbers your drawing holds it to.

What happens to a forged blank on this floor?
CNC machining a forged wheel is a sequence, not a single operation — and precision is built pass by pass, roughly 0.02" of metal at a time, not claimed at the end:
Turning
The blank goes onto the lathe first: barrel profile, faces and the mounting surfaces are turned true, the spindle centred to ~0.001".
Drilling
PCD holes and the centre bore — cut to your actual hub dimension, no spigot rings, exactly as the drawing states.
3–5 axis milling
The design work: spokes, windows, pockets, concave profiles — the geometry you approved, cut from solid.
Engraving
Serial, size, ET, CB and load rating cut into the barrel — the wheel leaves the floor carrying its own paperwork.

Whose machines are these?
Not ours by name — and we'd rather tell you the structure than imply a badge. The plant sits inside our group, owned by a shareholder, running for the group rather than the open market. Its name is not published; what is published is everything a buyer can actually verify: the certifications it holds — ISO & IATF 16949, copies on request — the tolerances it cuts to, and the inspection we run on every part that comes off it.
That structure buys two things an open-market machine shop can't offer by design:
Priority. FLEXIFORGED orders take relative internal priority in scheduling — your wheels don't queue behind whichever customer paid more that week. Discipline. One specification standard and one inspection regime apply to every wheel, because the company that wrote your drawing is the company checking the result. An open-market shop can promise both; a group plant is built for both.

Do you machine wheels in-house?
The honest structure: machining runs at a plant inside our group — shareholder-owned, not under the FLEXIFORGED name — with 60+ CNC machines in 3–5 axis. We write the specification, book the machine time, and inspect everything off the spindles; design, assembly, final inspection and export are in-house. The specification and the QC are ours across every partner.
What machining does a forged wheel go through?
Turning (barrel profile and faces), drilling (PCD and centre bore), 3–5 axis milling (spokes, windows, pockets), then engraving (serial, size, ET, CB, load rating). Roughly 0.02" per pass, spindle centred to ~0.001" — precision built pass by pass.
What tolerances are held?
Key dimensions ±0.05 mm; centre bore machined to your actual hub with no spigot rings; and after machining, 100% runout testing under 0.01" as part of the two-inspection system. Your wheel's numbers are on the drawing you approve first.
Why don't you name the plant?
A group decision, held consistently — the plant serves the group, not the open market. What's published instead is what you can verify: ISO & IATF 16949 (copies on request), the tolerances, and our inspection of every part. Formal supply-chain audits can raise it through the process on About.
What's the advantage over an open-market machine shop?
Priority — our orders take relative internal priority in scheduling instead of queuing behind the week's highest bidder. And discipline — one specification standard and one inspection regime, because the company that wrote the drawing checks the result. A job shop offers both only by promise; a group plant is structured for both.
What materials are machined?
Forged 6061-T6 aerospace-grade aluminium as standard across all constructions, and AZ80 forged magnesium for the lightweight range — extra care at the spindle, always shipped coated. Every blank is inspected before cutting; the blank spec is on materials & forged blanks.
