Custom Wheel Spacers: The 20 mm That Deserve Engineering

Custom wheel spacers are the simplest part on a car that can least afford to be casual — a machined disc of forged 6061-T6 sitting between your hub and your wheel. FLEXIFORGED supplies spacers and adapters with the same discipline as its wheels: specified by us, machined by specialists inside our supply chain, inspected twice, hub-centric to your actual hub, and confirmed on a drawing before production. Standalone orders from 80 pcs — a dealer and brand component, engineered instead of cataloged.

Which spacer does the job?

Four families cover nearly every application — the right one depends on how far the wheel must move and whether the bolt pattern changes:

Spacer & adapter types
TypeWhat it doesWhen to use it
Slip-on spacerSlides over the existing studs; small outboard correctionMinor clearance and stance changes where stud length allows
Bolt-on spacerBolts to the hub and carries its own studsLarger offsets — the spacer becomes the new mounting face
Hub-centric designLocates on the hub bore, not the studs — machined to your actual hubOur default: the wheel is centred by metal, torque only clamps
AdapterChanges the bolt pattern (PCD) or stud specRunning a wheel from one pattern on a hub with another — engineered per application, on the drawing

Who machines these?

Not us — and we'd rather say so than imply otherwise. Wheel spacers are machined by specialist partners inside our supply chain, to a FLEXIFORGED specification. What we do in-house is what decides what reaches you: we write the spec, we inspect what comes in, we run the second inspection before anything is packed, and we answer for the result. Every part is inspected twice — by whoever made it, then by FLEXIFORGED — the same rule that governs our wheels, on quality control.

One fitment authority. We machine wheel centre bores to your actual hub — no spigot rings. A spacer changes that exact stack-up. The company cutting your bore should be the company specifying your spacer: ordered together, wheel and spacer are engineered as one fitment on one set of drawings. Measuring your hub is covered in the fitment guide.

Wheel spacers FAQ

Are wheel spacers safe?

A quality spacer — hub-centric, machined to the actual hub, correctly torqued on sound studs — is an established fitment tool across performance and off-road builds. The horror stories come from lug-centric bargain parts, wrong bores and skipped re-torques. Ours are hub-centric, cut to your real hub dimension, inspected twice, and confirmed on a drawing first.

Do you machine your own spacers?

No — deliberately stated. Specialist partners inside our supply chain machine them to our specification. We write the spec, inspect incoming parts, run the second inspection, and answer for the result — every part inspected twice, same as our wheels.

What material do you use?

Forged 6061-T6 aluminium only — the same alloy family as our wheel range. We don't offer steel spacers.

Spacer or adapter — which do I need?

Same bolt pattern, wheel further out → spacer (slip-on small, bolt-on large). Different bolt pattern → adapter, engineered per application and confirmed on the drawing.

What's the minimum order and lead time?

Standalone spacer/adapter orders start at 80 pcs — a dealer, workshop and brand component. Lead time is confirmed on the quotation. Need a small quantity alongside a wheel order? Ask in the inquiry — we'll tell you honestly what's possible.

Can spacers be engineered together with my wheels?

Yes — the strongest reason to source both here. We cut wheel centre bores to your actual hub with no spigot rings; a spacer changes that stack-up, so wheel and spacer should come from one fitment authority, on one set of drawings.

Spec the spacer like it matters. Because it does.

Send hub dimensions, pattern, target thickness, finish and quantity — pricing comes back with an engineering drawing, and nothing is machined until you approve it. From 80 pcs, worldwide.
